Packing Trip Rates
Our rate is $60 per day for 1 to 6 days, or $50 per day for 7 to 10 days. This includes: All necessary llama equipment, first aid kit, 2 pounds of pellet feed per llama/day, and scale (total weight approx. 20 pounds + feed). We help you saddle, pack panniers, and weigh the first day of your trip.
Orientation/Training required: Two days with us on any trail with pack llamas, Overnight potluck with pack llamas, Certified training with another llama packer.
For Reservations: Once you decide on the number of llamas you want to use, the dates of your trip, give us a call or email. We'll work up a draft rental agreement and mail it to you for your review. It everything looks ok on the agreement, a deposit equal to 50% of the total rental fee is required to reserve your llamas and gear. The balance is due on the departure date (when you meet us with the llamas and gear). Checks accepted for deposit, only cash or money orders are accepted for the balance.
An equipment deposit check will also be required for items rented: $200 for each set of llama equipment. This check will be held and then returned to you after the trip upon return of all equipment in good condition. Damage to llama packs such as moderate tears, broken zippers, and excessive blood and food stains may be charged a repair/cleaning fee of $20 or more per pack, depending on damage. Repair fees for major damage to equipment will be charged accordingly. Arrangements can be made to pick up the panniers early so you can get packed before picking up the llamas.
Refund Policy: Full refunds less a $50 processing fee will be provided for cancellations made thirty (30) days in advance of the departure date. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations made within thirty (30) days of the departure date. Highland Llama Trekkers retains the right to cancel due to unforeseen conditions or for other reasons. If we cancel, full refunds will be given. Any rentals returned 3 or more days early will receive a credit for those days and number of llamas on a trip for the following year. The rental season is very busy and trips must often be scheduled around other rental dates. When trips return just a day or two early, there is not enough time to adjust scheduling of other trips.
